Description
Excellent ignitability and ease of use
High heat to thoroughly grill ingredients
Sustainability for long-lasting charcoal fire
Produced by craftsmen using traditional charcoal making methods

<Estimated usage amount>
Can be used for about 2 hours by 2 to 3 people
*Varies depending on the equipment and environment used

Material: Oak
Production area: Kuji City, Iwate Prefecture
Charcoal size: approx. 6cm (shapes vary such as round, semicircle, ginkgo shape, etc.)
Weight of charcoal: 1.2kg (Due to the shape derived from natural wood, there may be some errors)

Kurosumi (black charcoal) is prepared with a length of 2.3 inches, making it easy to stack in multiple layers for ignition. After arranging two layers around a hollow center similar to a chimney and then adding ignition material, it can be easily ignited.
Compared to Binchotan, Kurosumi is vastly superior in ease of ignition. Once the Kurosumi is piled up and lit on fire, the fire rises bit by bit through the chimney structure, eventually developing into a strong charcoal fire. It becomes ready for use after a few minutes when using a burner, or about 15 minutes when using a firelighter.
A powerful heat is built up very rapidly after ignition, reaching about 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. Thick meats, fish, and vegetables will be cooked thoroughly, leaving them crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
